Opinions on call centers

How great are call centers? For a company, a call center is great. Employees answer the many calls from customers and help customers with the problems the customers have. The company's point of view, a call center helps a company to provide better customer service. From the customer's perspective, however, call centers (or the employees) are the last thing a customer wants to deal with when already having problems. Is there hope? Is it possible that somewhere in the future a call center can be what they are meant to be, a way for a company to provide better customer service? Some companies are changing and are having call centers with top-quality backup systems to handle high call volumes and stay online during unexpected power outages. Employees are receiving intensive training to better assist customers. A brighter future is possible.
